Translator in Edinburgh

Translator David works from Chinese, Danish and Russian into his native English, and has spent time both teaching and translating around the world. Born in England, he received a first class degree in Chinese and Russian before spending a year in China on scholarship. In addition, he has two Master’s degrees and a PhD in Cognitive Science, in which he developed a novel system for modelling the syntax of natural languages.

Recently, he has been working on the development of a grammar and language program for a computing company, and has also worked on bilingual dictionaries and a children’s English corpus for educational organisations. With a background in research and teaching at a high level, David has specialist experience in a range of fields, including the education sector, science and computing.
