We'll analyse your files to assess the level of engineering required.
We'll extract translatable content from your files, and put it into a Computer Aided Translation (CAT) tool for translation.
Your content will be translated as per your instructions.
We'll reformat the translated texts to mirror the format you sent them to us in.
Our aim with File Engineering is to recognise translatable source content in client-supplied files and put it into a CAT tool for translation. Following translation, we take the target content and package it back up into the required file format.
This service is able to support the following file formats (without the need of a File Engineer having to manually engineer a file):
|Supported file formats|
We’ll extract all translatable content from the file formats we support and translate it as standard. If you just want certain parts of your files translated (like headers, highlighted sections or individual columns), we can adjust our filters to suit your project requirements.
Where more complex work is required, we offer additional services to engineer your files as part of the translation workflow. We also provide consultancy to get your files to a more translation-friendly structure long-term.
We can translate a pdf file but only with manual intervention from our File Engineering team by generating an editable conversion from it. This will increase your project cost and turnaround time. Due to the unstable nature of such a document we will not be able to recreate the exact layout and formatting. We recommend you provide us with an editable version of the content and opt for our Desktop Publishing (DTP) service.
