Be a translation intern at Lingo24!

Do you want to work as a translator, but don’t know how to get started? Would you like to gain practical experience working for one of the world’s fastest growing translation agencies? Becoming a translation intern at Lingo24 could be the answer!

Lingo24 is excited to announce its brand new program for aspiring translators. We’re offering a three-month, unpaid, remote translation internship starting in March 2013. The aim is to help interns develop the necessary skills to thrive in the industry. If successful, we hope to develop a long-lasting collaboration, offering them paid work and support in developing their careers.

Translation internship program

As a translation intern, you’ll be working with our most experienced translators, Linguist Managers and Project Managers, gaining a broad knowledge of the industry. You’ll be completing short translation tasks, and receive feedback and advice on improving your skills. You’ll get training on our CAT tools, Translation Memory and glossary creation, and other marketable skills such as search engine optimisation.

Our Project Managers and Language Combination Controllers will share a wealth of advice on starting in the industry through webinars and informal discussions. There’ll also be the chance to experience other aspects of Lingo24, working with our Project Managers, Technical Division, and Online Marketing team.

Candidates for the Lingo24 translation internship should be fluent in English, and native speakers of English, German, French, Italian, or Spanish. You should be studying languages or translation at undergraduate level, or hold a degree in one of these subjects.

You should also have:

  • a high level of computer literacy. You’ll need a computer with a solid internet connection and equipment for video conferencing (webcam, microphone)
  • good attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and be able to work independently
  • great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • a keen interest in translation and a desire to join the translation industry
