Be a translation intern at Lingo24!
Do you want to work as a translator, but don’t know how to get started? Would you like to gain practical experience working for one of the world’s fastest growing translation agencies? Becoming a translation intern at Lingo24 could be the answer!
Lingo24 is starting up its programme for aspiring translators. We’re offering a six-week, unpaid, remote internship starting in July 2015. The aim is to help interns develop the necessary skills to thrive in the translation industry. If successful, we hope to develop a long-lasting collaboration, offering paid work and support in developing a career in translation.
As a translation intern, you’ll be working with our most experienced Linguist Managers and Project Managers, gaining a broad knowledge of the industry. You’ll be completing short translation tasks, and receive feedback and advice on improving your skills. You’ll get training on our CAT tools, Translation Memory and glossary creation, and other marketable skills.
Our Project Managers and Linguist Managers will share a wealth of advice on starting in the industry through webinars and informal discussions. There’ll also be the chance to experience other aspects of Lingo24, working with our Project Managers, Technical Division, and Linguist Management team.
We’re looking for candidates who are fluent in English, and are native speakers of English, German, French, Italian or Spanish. You should be studying languages or translation at undergraduate level, or hold a degree in one of these subjects.
You should also have:
- a high level of computer literacy and a computer with a solid internet connection and equipment for video conferencing (webcam, microphone);
- good attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently;
- great communication skills, both written and verbal; and
- a keen interest in translation and a desire to join the translation industry.
