Heart: Technical Translation Services
Heart is designed to make it easier for you to manage your localisation and technical publication workflows. Our technical translation services streamline and automate traditionally manual processes, taking the hassle out of the process of submitting content for translation and publishing translated content.
For those who are interested in the technical details of how Heart achieves these benefits, Heart is comprised of two key tools - our database-driven Administration system, based upon PHP, and our computer assisted translation (CAT) tool XTM, based upon Java.
XTM has a modular Open Architecture and fully documented APIs and Web Services allow the XTM modules to be integrated within both Java and .Net based systems.
XTM is built upon the concept of Open Standards, and as such supports the following Open Standards approved by the W3C, LISA (Localization Industry Standards Association) and OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards):

This adherence to W3C standards aimed at internationalised webpages and products, including the preservation of Unicode and OAXAL standards, assures that the final product will be interchangeable with any tool you use that conforms with those standards.
If your content is already based upon internationalised W3C Open Standards then you have a head start towards seamless integration with Heart and simplified technical publication workflows.
Heart has existing CMS plug-ins for many of the widely used CMSs, and plug-ins between Heart and any CMS can be written with minimal programming time.
For Web Services links between Heart and clients’ Web Services, Heart is completely passive and responds only to calls from the client - a passive API (Application Programming Interface) accepts and returns file transfers via the protocols URL or MTOM (Message Transmission Optimisation Mechanism) file attachments.
