Job Description: Sales Research Assistant/Online marketer in Panama City, Panama

Role:

• Primary: to provide the sales team with leads to make account managers’ work more effective
• Secondary: to ensure Lingo24’s own site(s) are finding new, high quality sites which can link to it, and arrange that the links deal (where appropriate) is fulfilled.

Tasks:

Related to sales research

1. Research potential client companies through the internet and other means to compile lists of companies we ‘suspect’ of having translation requirements (suspects) to support the sales team and the marketing co-ordinator.
2. Provide the sales team with detailed information via our centralised admin database to maximise the effectiveness of the first contact from the sales person, including company information, names of potentially important people.

Related to Online Marketing

1. Find new sites related to translation and language or focused on an industry sector Lingo24 or its client is looking to target (for example, the travel and tourism sector, or ‘marketing managers’ for Lingo24, or business travellers for hotels) or use existing industry information from Lingo24 to find contacts.
2. Contact the site (by email or by ‘phone) and see if they would be interested in linking to one or more of our many useful resources, or publishing an article by us that offers their site visitors real value in exchange for a link back to our site.
3. If we have a positive response, arrange fulfilment of ‘deal’. If not, suggest other things, such as: link exchange (using our other sites); affiliate scheme (whereby the site derives revenue from forwarded traffic), paid advertising (either a text link ad or a dedicated page). (It may be that sites will link to parts of our site but not others – and this is still worth doing – so for example they might link to our articles, but not to our customer-focused material). Again, when we find an opportunity, complete the job/close the deal.

• proven Internet research and computer skills
• good level of numeracy

Position within hierarchy

Reports directly to Office Manager in Panama.

Working Conditions:

• Salary: Will depend on experience, but will be competitive and rewarding.
• Based: in Panama City, Panama.
• Hours: 8a.m.-5 p.m.
• Contract: There will be a trial period of three months during which you will receive full training. During the trial period, the company will evaluate your performance, with the intention of making the contract permanent (or long-term) if the trial period is a success.

Performance/incentivisation

1. bonuses for a number of leads which turned into clients
2. bonus scheme for link creation assessed using the following performance indicators
   • score on Link Manager
   • total number of links from unique domains achieved per month
   • quality of links received - good content, etc.
