File processing FAQs

Depending on the nature of the content our customers can send us their larger files in various ways. If security is a concern we offer access to our FTP (server name: ftp.lingo24.com) or Alfresco, both of which are secure Document Management Systems. You can also use WeTransfer or Dropbox if you prefer. Speak to us to find out more.

We cannot currently work with Madcap Flare content.

Yes, we can handle Quark 5 files. However, what we do is not a conversion but rather a reconstruction of the file in InDesign.

If you have your own CMS (Content management System) and can export the content in XLIFF, XML or even Excel format that would be best. However, if you cannot export it we can work with the HTML version.

We can also connect directly to many CMSs via plug-ins to our API, to save you having to export and then import content again later. Find out more here.

Yes, we can work with CSV, JSON and HTML files. See the full list of supported file types here

Yes, our DTP team frequently works with Framemaker files.

We cannot currently work with .dwg files. See the list of file formats we can support, or get in touch with our team to discuss your File Engineering requirements. 

We can send you a quote based on an initial estimate. However, in order to provide a final and 100% accurate quote we will require the source files including everything you require translating. 

We can support numerous types of files, the most common being doc/docx, xls/xlsx, ppt/pptx, rtf, html/xhtml, idml, xlf/xliff, xml. Other supported formats include: asp/aspx, dita, fxg, ini, json, mif, odp, ods, odt, php, po/pot, properties, resx, sdf, sdlxliff, svg, sxw, tpl, ttx, txml, txt, vdx/vsdx, yml/yaml.
