Hindi Translation Services
Hindi is probably one of the most important languages on the subcontinent of India. Not only is it spoken extensively within the so called ‘Hindi belt’ comprising of the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand; in other words a vast swathe of India, but it is also widely understood in adjacent States.
Perhaps more vitally, Hindi in the Devanagari script was designated in the Indian Constitution, alongside English, as one of the two official languages of the Union and one of the two official languages (once again, alongside English), of Central Government.
Hindi and its Devanagari script are very directly descended from Sanskrit. Because of past events in Indian history, outside influences formed an dialect of Hindi called Urdu which verbally is almost indistinguishable from Hindi except for differences in its script and some slight differences in its vocabulary. Using this fact, one can safely say that Hindi is the native tongue of some 240 million people, the second language of 200 million more and additionally can be understood by around 250 million more people that are Urdu speakers.
