Job Description for Lingo24 DTP /web designer

Background

Lingo24 is one of the fastest-growing, most innovative translation companies in Europe. With small operations in the UK, New Zealand, China, France and Germany, the company’s main hub is in Romania, where it employs over 50 people in project management, account management, IT and marketing roles. Lingo24 undertakes translation projects for a wide range of clients in several different industry sectors.

It is now seeking an experienced DTP artist to join its growing team in Timisoara, Romania, as Lingo24’s clients are requesting ever more projects involving DTP work.

Outline of DTP web designer role

The DTP artist is tasked with creating and editing brochures and leaflets. She/he will be extracting translatable text from InDesign, Quark, etc. , converting text into editable file formats and recreating the documents into the original format. She/he will also be creating and maintaining web pages using dedicated tools. Experience in graphics is a must!

Specific Tasks

• To extract text from different file formats created with software like : Adobe Indesign / Illustrator / Incopy, Quark Xpress, Page Maker, Corel Draw, etc. and non-editable file formats ( PDF / images) using OCR software.
• To convert text into editable file formats ( XML / MS Office / OpenOffice )
• To recreate documents into the original format.
• To create and edit brochures, leaflets, graphic material ( medium complexity )
• To create and maintain web pages using dedicated tools.

Requirements

Skills that the candidate needs to apply :

• Good knowledge of XML / DTD, (X)HTML, CSS
• Experience with graphical tools ( Adobe, Corel, Quark, etc.
• At least 1 year experience in the field (please give examples of previous work: portfolio)
• English is a must.

Salary and conditions

The salary will depend on experience, but will be competitive and rewarding. 24 days’ holiday, pension scheme, bonuses, well-being benefit, team building activities and six-monthly salary review.
