Distance is no barrier for Lingo24

The world is definitely getting smaller. And at a time when the word ‘flying’ is almost considered a curse word, it is probably just as well we can communicate via email and VoIP (or Skype to you and me).
With the advent of the internet era globalisation is now a viable option for companies of all sizes. For Lingo24, we’ve got offices in four continents and without the wonders of modern technology, we would probably have a carbon footprint the size of a very large elephant.

Video may well have killed the radio star as British pop group and one-hit wonders The Buggles sang on their 1979 smash hit, but video has also created superstars out of many people.
St. Patrick’s Day, the Irish Language…and a translation company!

As a translation company with 8 years industry experience, we have covered pretty much most language combinations you could ever imagine.
From Swahili and Sudanese, to Tagalog and Tamil. We have never had to turn down a translation request yet.
Closer to home, we have carried out countless translations involving Scottish Gaelic and Welsh. And in the week that saw Irish people the world over celebrate St. Patrick Day, we are pleased to report that we’ve also got a fair amount of experience with the Irish language too.
The Art of SEO

As any 21st century organisation will be able to confirm, success in the modern day business world is very much dependent on their online presence.
Furthermore, given that over 65% of the UK population are now wired up to the World Wide Web at home, e-commerce plays a huge part in most ‘B2C’ companies’ profit margins. But standing out from the crowd is not exactly easy and anything less than a ‘top 10’ position on Google rankings simply isn’t good enough to ensure a steady flow of customers from their website.

As the old saying goes, time does pass rather quickly when one is having a good old time of it. And tomorrow – the 14th of March – is Lingo24’s four year anniversary in Timisoara, Romania.
And it has been an incredible journey for everyone involved. Romania – and Timisoara in particular – has proven to be a fantastic base for Lingo’s main hub and operational heartbeat.

Well, Lingo24’s Operations Director Jack Waley-Cohen produced another one of his legendary quizzes at Timisoara’s Casa Romaneasca last Wednesday evening.
Following a few short presentations by some of our key personnel, including founder and Managing Director Christian Arno, everybody tucked into a veritable medley of fine food and just a little wine.

Well, it was only a matter of time. The past eight years has seen Lingo24 go from strength to strength, growing from a small, home-based UK business in 2001, to a multi-timezone global operation spanning four continents in 2009.
And now, we have reached another magic milestone that’s certainly worth shouting from the rooftops.
Lingo24 now has exactly 100 active employees – which is the first time in our history that we’ve had a 3-figure global headcount.
