want important news? Idiom’s LSP programm goes live
Let me quote this from Jost Zetzsche newsletter (to which, by the way, everybody can subscribe by going to www.internationalwriters.com/toolkit - and since you are there - think about buying his e-book. I can only recommend it - and maybe you could mention my name when you buy it.
Here is what Jost told his readers about a change that is rather important for the industry - I’ve only quoted the first bit - the rest is already “premium content” and only for the eyes of those who bought his book (you can see - I did (’:)’)
So over to Jost:

Changes in the Translation Environment Tool Market (Premium Content)
Idiom (see www.idiominc.com) started a beta phase for its “WorldServer LSP
Advantage Program” a few months ago. It has now moved out of its beta
(testing) phase and is now offering WorldServer, a language technology tool
that combines translation memory and workflow solutions, to a much broader
range of language service providers (LSP). This is really quite
interesting, I think. The cost for LSPs that use the whole system as well
as for translators who work on the newly released WorldServer Desktop is 0
(that’s a zero!). In doing this, Idiom hopes to become the standard for
larger enterprises, which in turn may learn about this through their
language service providers.
Idiom launched this particular program in response to the Trados/SDL deal,
which in my opinion has really only brought benefits to the overall market
situation for translation environment tools.

Thank you Jost.
I have to say that I looked at Idiom a wee while ago and I thought it was pretty much what was needed to be successful in our business. The only way you can do better is by doing it yourself - but if you want to do that, you need to have a great technology behind you (like XTM, for example)
