TAUS Summit Decides to Develop Business Plan for Language Data Sharing Industry Co-operative
Taos, March 16, 2007 – Representatives from 26 organizations have decided to develop a business plan for an industry co-operative body aimed at hosting and sharing multilingual language data. The potential benefits and risks, the business model and user and technology scenarios, associated to an industry-shared language data repository, were discussed in a two days TAUS Summit in Taos, New Mexico. The business plan will be developed by TAUS supported by a Steering Committee representing most of the participating organizations. A second TAUS Summit is scheduled for October 4 and 5 in Belfast, Ireland, where the Business Plan will be reviewed.
