Microsoft glossaries now in muuuuch better format
This is a dream coming true - the Microsoft glossaries have been revamped and are now available as a CSV formatted download from http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/tools/MILSGlossary.mspx
Although it looks like quite a breakthrough I wonder if there will be still a place for that little piece of software that I bought a few years ago, in order to make the content of the MS glossaries accessible… seems that at least the German glossary that they used to have is much bigger than the new one… anyway - it is pretty cool and all you CAT tool people, go and import the glossaries into your terminology and be happy ever after
and here is what Microsoft says:
To provide users with more up-to-date terminology, Microsoft has replaced the glossary content that was previously posted to the Microsoft ftp site with a more concise document that is easier to use. We have consolidated and moved the data from the ftp site to the Microsoft download center in an effort to significantly increase reliability and accessibility for users.
This new CSV file contains over 9,000 English terms plus the translations of the terms for up to 45 different languages. Microsoft provides the Microsoft terminology data to allow our customers, ISVs, and partners to have a more consistent user experience across the products they are using and developing.
