Across free to freelancers
A student pointed out to me that Across is giving away its CAT tool for free to freelancers. I heard about that a few months ago but thought it was a satelite version - the kind of thing that all tool producers give away and which can only deal with projects that one gets send by agencies or other people who have the full version of the tool.
Well. my perception was wrong: Across indeed gives away the Version 3.5 of their tool - and you get a fully functional CAT tool, with all file format filters and the lot. One of the downsides is the huge download size (460MB), which took me a few attempts to conquer.
But once I got over that, I found a great suit with all those functions that Version 1 already promised to have. I’m sure to try it if I get a job in my freelance time off.
